Orders Received

Eric received his orders from the Air Force today giving us the date as to when he needs to report in San Antonio. It's a few days earlier than we thought it would be and it looks like he will miss his dental school graduation. We had thought about not hanging around for it anyway and I guess that decision has been made for us.

We've been preparing for this move for a while but seeing the date on paper today made it feel very real. As much as I've been whining about the winter weather, I love Boston. I really love Boston. I have made some very wonderful friends here and I'm pretty sad about leaving.

Nothing makes it official like those orders. I wouldn't fret about missing graduation, for Jason and I it was a nightmare. Not sure how your husband's school does it, but for mine they had a joint ceremony for the ENTIRE medical corp. Occupational therapy, physical thereapy, doctors, nurses, dentists, opthmologists, etc. The ceremony was FOUR HOURS long. Try that with kids.Ick. They did play a Star Wars tune when they got to walk out with thier diplomas in hand, but other thatn that it was miserable.

Just look forward to packing and the drive! Do you have a portable dvd player? If not, get your Military Star card (Air Force dept. store) and charge one online baby! Go Air Force!
