Awlad Hassan is an ethnic group of Sudan. It is an Arabic-speaking minority. The number of persons in this group exceeds 50,000. Most members of this group are Muslims.
I found the random selection of this ethnic group somewhat timely due to the talks in Darfur. I did a search in Google News to see if the Awlad Hassan had any significant part (at least, in terms of what has been reported in the news) in the civil war. Nothing came up so I did a general search. There isn't much out there regarding this group except in the extensive databases maintained by the evangelical missionary organizations that catalog the peoples of the world.
