Sandals
Every summer I have the same problem: half-way through the summer at least one of my children has either outgrown or worn out their sandals. What makes this a problem is that by mid July sandals are really scarce in the retail world. I understand that they need to start clearing their shelves for the annual back to school extravaganza, but we still have about 2 months of sandal-wearing weather left. I had to visit 4 stores before I finally found a new pair for Henry, who is particularly rough on his shoes. Maybe next year I will get wise and buy an extra pair in a size larger.

BTDT. The only option is Lands' End, and it's a good one

I know, I went to buy my girl another pair of shorts last weekend when I learned her pre-school which she will be starting in August will be going to uniforms, meaning one of their logo t-shirts along with khaki or denim bottoms. It is July. Here in Florida we don't even consider putting bringing out the long pants until close to Christmas (and even then we are likely to have many days where we will wear shorts). But it was all long pants in the store!

The smell is what knocks me out mid-July. I went with Lands End and next summer? I am so buying two pairs for each boy!

I want to get a jump start and buy clearance sandals now for next year, but knowing me I'd never find them again once they are packed away for our move. I'd been searching for another pair of sandals for EBaby and it was so hard to track anything down(I never knew one little toddlers feet could get so stinky! thankfully washing the sandals in the machine worked).

The way they clear the summer stuff out so fast really is crazy.
I have one who's rough on her shoes too - I should put up a pic of Sophie's school shoes. They look terrible, but since school ends on Wednesday she'll just have to wear them till then. She has been through four(!!) pairs this year - she literally shreds them. It is bizarre.
