Sometimes You Just Need to Complain
Nothing serious...just a short list of things that have irritated me lately:
1. Highway exit numbers that do not correspond with the mile markers. On Saturday we went to a party in Elizabeth, NJ, which is right off of Exit 13 of the New Jersey Turnpike. We live off of exit 7. They were about 50 miles apart, not 6. The mileage wasn't even on the toll ticket. This is actually something that has bothered me since we moved here.
2. Public restroom stalls that are so small that you can't help but bump against the toilet to get the door closed. Ick, Ick, Ick!
3. People who ply my kids with candy. One morning recently within a span of about 3 hours Henry was given four different lollipops by 4 different people: a doctor's receptionist, the bank teller, the security guard at the library and the guard at th egate to get on base.
4. People who have their MP3 FM transmitters set to play on the local NPR station. The reception isn't always the best out here in rural New Jersey but they still should chose a completely empty channel. It's really frustrating to be waiting at a red light with a car whose driver is transmitting really bad music in the middle of an interesting story on the radio.

I don't even know what those transmitter thingeys are, but I, too, would be annoyed if someone's bad music interrupted a good story on NPR! Here the highway exits used to be numbered as you describe, with one exit being #6 and the next being #7 even if they were miles apart. A few years ago they re-numbered them all to correspond with the mileage. This system which you like drives me nuts. I have no clue of the exit # even of the exits I get off/ on every day. I HATE when traffic reports say "Traffic is stopped at exit 200 for an accident." I have NO idea where exit 200 is... use the exit road names instead!

There is a totally cool way to solve it, get Sirius satellite radio. You have way more channels, lots of NPR and no one can ever interfere with it :)
It is awesome for long trips, never need to change the channel no matter waht state you are in.

I get the candy thing. We generally go to the bank daily to deposit computer company stuff. I always leave the sucker in the little tube because I don't want it. And sometimes they send 2! One for the baby! crazy.
